{"id":1626,"date":"2024-05-20T17:59:51","date_gmt":"2024-05-20T15:59:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/foodstory.es\/?p=1626"},"modified":"2024-05-20T17:59:53","modified_gmt":"2024-05-20T15:59:53","slug":"subway-ya-gira-en-la-orbita-de-roark","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/foodstory.es\/en\/subway-ya-gira-en-la-orbita-de-roark\/","title":{"rendered":"Subway ya gira en la \u00f3rbita de Roark"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tras complejas negociaciones, John Chidsey, CEO de Subway ha anunciado que la conocida marca de \u201csubs\u201d , servidos en 37.000 locales, por todo el mundo,&nbsp;&nbsp;pasa a integrarse en el conglomerado financiero Roark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La firma de capital privado Roark, con sede en Atlanta,&nbsp;&nbsp;tiene en su portfolio de marcas a nada menos que&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Inspire Brands, que incluye Arby&#8217;s, Buffalo Wild Wings, Sonic Drive-In, Dunkin&#8217;, Baskin-Robbins y Jimmy John&#8217;s, as\u00ed como GoTo Foods (anteriormente Focus Brands), es propietaria y franquiciadora de Auntie Anne&#8217;s, Carvel, Cinnabon, Jamba, McAlister&#8217;s Deli, Moe&#8217;s Southwest Grill y Schlotzsky&#8217;s y&nbsp;&nbsp;tambi\u00e9n ha invertido en CKE, la empresa matriz de Carl&#8217;s Jr. y Hardee&#8217;s, as\u00ed como en Miller&#8217;s Ale House y el franquiciador de Seattle&#8217;s Best Coffee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La operaci\u00f3n marca el primer cambio de propiedad de Subway desde que la compa\u00f1\u00eda fue fundada en 1965 por el difunto Fred DeLuca como Pete&#8217;s Super Submarines (Peter Buck financi\u00f3 la apertura). La compa\u00f1\u00eda pas\u00f3 a llamarse Subway en 1972 y comenz\u00f3 a franquiciar en 1974.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En enero de 2023, se anunci\u00f3 que Subway estaba buscando un comprador. Mientras tanto, el grupo brit\u00e1nico EG se negoci\u00f3 como contendiente hasta que Roark Capital finalmente apareci\u00f3 en escena en el verano de 2023. Se dice que el precio de compra ha ascendido a 9 mil millones de d\u00f3lares estadounidenses<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subway arrastraba problemas en algunos mercados internacionales y entre 2018 y 2020 lleg\u00f3 a cerrar dos mil locales.
