Esto se suma al 13% de los alimentos del mundo que se pierden en la cadena de suministro. De este desperdicio de alimentos, el 60% ocurri\u00f3 a nivel dom\u00e9stico, siendo el servicio de alimentos responsable del 28% y el comercio minorista el 12%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los datos se publicaron en el&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unep.org\/resources\/publication\/food-waste-index-report-2024\">reci\u00e9n publicado Informe del \u00cdndice de Desperdicio de Alimentos 2024 del PNUMA<\/a>, en coautor\u00eda con WRAP, que se considera que proporciona la estimaci\u00f3n mundial m\u00e1s precisa sobre el desperdicio de alimentos a nivel minorista y de consumo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de da\u00f1ar la econom\u00eda mundial, el desperdicio de alimentos sigue alimentando el cambio clim\u00e1tico, la p\u00e9rdida de naturaleza y la contaminaci\u00f3n. Se estima que la p\u00e9rdida y el desperdicio de alimentos generan entre el 8 % y el 10 % de las emisiones anuales de gases de efecto invernadero a nivel mundial, casi cinco veces m\u00e1s que en el sector de la aviaci\u00f3n, y una p\u00e9rdida significativa de biodiversidad al ocupar el equivalente a casi un tercio de las tierras agr\u00edcolas del mundo. A partir de 2022, solo 21 pa\u00edses han incluido la reducci\u00f3n de la p\u00e9rdida y\/o el desperdicio de alimentos en sus planes clim\u00e1ticos nacionales (NDC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los datos confirmaron que el desperdicio de alimentos no es solo un problema de los \u00abpa\u00edses ricos\u00bb, ya que los niveles de desperdicio de alimentos en los hogares difieren en los niveles promedio
